Lake Crackenback Resort is located in a sensitive alpine environment and surrounded by heritage listed wilderness areas.

The recreational facilities and parklands are located on private property owned by the Owners Corporation of Strata Scheme SP37248.

Lake Crackenback Resort is classified under the NSW Inclosed Lands Protection Act 1901 No 33.
